Your baby is the most precious thing to you and I consider it an honor I get to capture these moments. Their tiny fingers and toes will only be this tiny once and its so important to photograph them before they quickly pass. These images will help remind you how small and perfect they were!
I absolutely love newborn photography! My photography style is simple and traditional with an emphasis on your newborn. I want to capture each little part of your newborn that makes your baby special. Every prop and wrap is specifically selected to bring texture and color to your image without overpowering. Each photo is lit with beautiful soft lighting that will bring it all together. I want you to look back on your images in 10+ years and love them as much as you do today!
WHEN TO BOOK?
As soon as you’ve decided that you want newborn photos! Give me a call! I love talking to my moms and dads before you book. It gives us a great chance to get to know each other, personalize your session and talk over what exactly your expectations are for the session. I want to know what is important to you! Booking before your baby arrives is the best way to ensure that I have enough availability in our schedule for your newborn. To make sure that we have flexibility for our newborns, I only book a limited amount of babies a month, 4-5. Booking is easy! All you need to do is fill out our photography contract and a $100 retainer to reserve your photoshoot. I will then add your due date to my calendar and we are all set!
WHEN BABY ARRIVES?
Once your baby comes, please let me know and we can set up your session date. I prefer to schedule newborns before they turn two weeks. This lets us capture their tiny toes, they still love to curl up into poses and sleep deeply. If your baby is older than two weeks, its not a problem at all. We are able to capture beautiful images with babies even over a month old.
DURING YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
We offer two types of newborn sessions so that you can choose which works best for your family. All sessions include our client closet of unique wraps and props. The mini session is designed for a family who is looking for an affordable session and would like newborn only photos and just want a few photos to capture their newness. This session is wrapped only (meaning no nude or outfits) and lasts an hour and half.
The full session is designed to capture a growing family with family and sibling photos if desired or you can just do baby. We love when Grandparents make a stop in for these sessions as well! A full session is 3 hours long and allow us time to get through a variety of poses, wraps, prop and outfits and if desired naked shots. Baby is the boss around here! We take plenty of time for feedings and work around what your baby needs and prefers.
These sessions take place in our South Jersey newborn studio located in Sicklerville, NJ. We do offer to travel to your home as well (you can find more information on in-home sessions here- South Jersey In-home Newborn.) There is a small setup and travel fee included for this.
WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
A fully stocked diaper bag full of diapers, wipes, changing pad, pacifiers (if used), bottles and formula if not nursing. Bringing plenty of feedings is key to a successful session, our babies get hungry! Plan on bringing 3-4 worth of feeding supplies.
Have baby wear an easy to change button up or zippered pajamas and a loose fitting diaper so we reduce the chance of lines on the baby’s skin. Sessions are a lot of fun, but do take a lot of time. Feel free to bring a book or some snacks for yourself!
Our wardrobe is fully stocked, but I absolutely love when parents bring in sentimental items to personalize their session. Please bring in that blanket grandmom knitted, a special outfit, or anything else special to your family!
SIBLING PHOTOS
I absolutely love capturing sibling photos as there is nothing more adorable than a proud big brother or sister! These images are included in the full newborn session only. I suggest for young siblings to be brought in either during the beginning or end of the session as its so hard for them to endure a 3 hour session. We would take the sibling photos and then a parent or relative can take them somewhere a little more exciting while we take the rest of the newborn photos. If your home is a bit a distance than there are lots of many fun playgrounds in the area, restaurants or one of my very favorite places- Target!
SAFETY & SANATATION
There is nothing more important that happens in the studio before safety. Our studio is composed of two connecting rooms. While you feel free to relax on our sofa, you will be in full view of our posing room so that you can see your baby at all times. All poses are done in a safe and secure way so that your baby feels relaxed and comfortable the entire time. If they seem unsettled in any pose, we will move onto another pose that works better for them. The baby is always the boss here and I pose according to their cues and comfort.
After every session all wraps and props are sanitized and wiped down. We kindly ask that if your child has any type of fever, cough or sneeze before you visit the studio to please give us a call so that we can reschedule your session. Working will little ones, its our top priority to keep every healthy and happy.
FOLLOWING YOUR SESSION
You’re excited and so am I to see these gorgeous images! Within 48 hours following your session I will email you over a preview gallery from where you can choose your photos. You have a week to choose which images you would like. Once you choose, I will then edit those images to perfection by removing any baby acne or scratches, smooth the skin and color correct. While I edit, I will sneak peek 1 or 2 to you so that you don’t have to wait!
BABY VIP FIRST YEAR PACKAGE
This is the ultimate baby experience! This package allows us to really showcase your little one and capture each moment and stage as they grow. Included in this package is the newborn session, sitter session and then a cake smash birthday session at the end of the year with a FREE minis.
